We, the undersigned NGOs, welcome that for the first time the analytical part of the Operational Program on Transport (OPT)1 takes account of the environmental impact of the transport modes. We appreciate that the assessment of the current situation of the transport modes clearly highlights the problem with the continuous growth of the freight and passenger road transport on account of the drastic drop in the use of railway and public transport. We completely agree that development of the sustainable transport sector should be an overall goal of the OPT.
